“These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold — though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” — 1 Peter 1:7

A Time to Stretch

Being stretched in our faith produces a trying time, but in the end there are no greater seasons.

Let’s examine a rubber band. In order for it to completely be purposeful, it must be stretched from its original form. When not stretched, it’s pretty much useless and weak. It’s at its strongest when it is being used to its full potential.

When we are willing to step out and stretch ourselves, God shows up and does what we can’t do. It’s in these moments that His strength, not ours, is on full display. If this season is stretching you, be encouraged that the end result will produce your full purpose. God is using this time to bring something out of you that no one else can, in a way nobody else could.

Take a rubber band today and place it on your wrist. Keep that as a reminder that God is stretching you for your greater good.
