“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” — Luke 2:11

The Greatest Gift

In sports, we often hear the term “athletic freak” when we look at specific athletes. In the NFL, we think of players like Saquon Barkley, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Donald and Julio Jones. In the NBA, we always turn to LeBron James, but there are also guys like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Russell Westbrook and Joel Embiid.

These players are considered total freaks of nature. They truly have been given a gift from God and then took care of that gift to become great at what they do.

We’ve all been given a gift on this day in the form of Jesus Christ. Today is the day we celebrate the Savior being born. He came into this world to save you and I from eternal separation without God.

It is the greatest gift any of us could ever imagine.

Today, as you open presents, as you celebrate with family, as you watch the NBA, as you enjoy your Christmas dinner, remember why we celebrate. Remember Jesus, remember His sacrifice, remember His gift, the greatest gift with the greatest news.

Merry Christmas.
