“Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones and say to them, “Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.”‘” — Ezekiel 37:4-5

Most of us work in locations in which being a Christian is the minority. People are constantly complaining, reckless in their words and actions, but in our minds we think, “They need Jesus.” Often we can look at our job situations and be discouraged because we aren’t surrounded with other Christians or people who get it. God calls this something different: opportunity.

Every day, no matter our situation, we have an opportunity to share Christ with others in various ways. An opportunity to smile. An opportunity to extend our gratitude. An opportunity to love with a reckless abandonment. An opportunity to shine our light. An opportunity to be generous.

For me personally, I desire for people to see the love of God flowing in and through me. I hope that when someone looks at my life, he or she will see Jesus. I pray my colleagues will ask questions as to what makes me function as I do. Joy is contagious and it can only be found through our Jesus who has assigned us to be His light no matter where we go.

Today at work, shift your mindset and you become the majority at your site. You stand out and be the difference maker. Refuse to let the actions of others bring us down, but focus on the joy that has been instilled in us to lift others up. Breath life into people this week and watch dead bones come to life.
