“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” — Romans 8:28

Disappointment

I have been thinking recently about how many times we have to deal with disappointment in life. We often have in our minds how we think things should go, and many times it just doesn’t happen like we think it should.

Disappointment can really take the wind out of our sails. Some disappointments seem minor and some can be crushing and painful. Your disappointments are different from mine, but we all deal with them in one form or another.

The beautiful thing is that God meets us in our place of disappointment and gives us space to grieve our crushed hopes and expectations, but He has also promised us that He causes all things to work together for good. If you are dealing with disappointment, large or small, tell God about your heartache and ask Him to help you see the good that will come.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses (Hebrews 4:15). He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Bless you today as you serve Him!
