“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” — Hebrews 11:1

Building Champions

As a young shortstop, I remember being nervous and wondering what I would do if a ball was hit to me. Later, as a relatively successful American Legion player, I wanted every ball hit to me. The confidence came from fielding hundreds of balls.

Similarly, the more we study God’s Word, the more we pray, and the more we associate with Godly people, the stronger our faith and confidence will become.

Part of that growth comes in confessing sin so that we can be forgiven, as 1 John 1:9 says. God has told us that when we do this, with a pure heart, our sins will instantly be forgiven.

Because His Holy Spirit lives in us, our prayers, reading and fellowship will represent true faithfulness. So seek and trust God and let Him make you a champion for the cause of Christ.
