“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” — Jeremiah 29:11

The Courage Zone

Sometimes comfort can pin me down and call me a coward. So I end up living in defeat, feeling as though I cannot break free until a helping hand reaches out. And suddenly I feel encouraged to embrace the challenges set before me by grabbing onto opportunity as it goes racing past.

But if I ignore the invitation to live boldly, complacency rests heavily on my shoulders until fear begins to fray around the edges of my life so that I no longer reach for opportunity, but hide from it.

Does comfort have you feeling trapped today? Perhaps it is time to push complacency aside. Maybe it is time to refuse to remain average. Instead, God wants to pull you from your comfort zone and place you into your courage zone so you may grab hold of the opportunities He has for you.

In what ways have you been allowing comfort and complacency to creep up on the plans God has for your life?
