“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” — 2 Corinthians 9:15
The Perfect Plan
Christmas is a magical time full of wonderful things — family gatherings, beautiful gifts, specially prepared food, decorations, special church programs and services, and lots of fun parties. We know it is a celebration of the birth of our Savior, but sometimes the Christmas story can become overly familiar and lose its wonder.
The fact that God humbled Himself and came to earth as a child to live as a human and die a substitutionary death for us is the most wonderful good news in all the world! My family reads the Christmas story from Luke every Christmas morning before we open our presents, just to remind us again what this whole celebration is about.
We don’t want to take it for granted and become so familiar with the story that it no longer holds our wonder. I encourage you to really meditate today on the wonder of the Christmas story. God made a way for us where there seemed to be no way. He had a plan from the beginning to redeem us and Jesus was the plan!
Merry Christmas to you!
