Sports Spectrum Daily Devotional: Wednesday, December 25

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” — 1 Corinthians 13:13

The Greatest Gift

Merry Christmas everyone. We hope you are all enjoying your holiday together as family.

This day always brings back memories of me being a kid, waking up Christmas morning and seeing all of the presents under the tree. My greatest memories always surround sports — getting that baseball glove I always wanted, receiving a football jersey of my favorite player, or a binder to put my baseball cards in. Those memories will last with me forever.

But looking back, I realize it wasn’t about the presents under the tree. It was about the thought that went into the gift. It was about the people I was with. It was about the love that we all shared being together. And to me, that is the greatest gift we can ever give or receive.

LOVE.

As you go about the hustle and bustle of the next few days visiting family and friends and trying to arrange dinner, get the presents ready, get the kids dressed and ready to go, and get that perfect photo for Facebook, remember: None of this compares to the love that can be shared with each other.

On this Christmas Day, remind yourself that love came down in the form of a baby boy in a stable, where we were all truly shown why LOVE is the greatest gift of all.

Merry Christmas to all of you from all of us here at Sports Spectrum.
