God promises to sustain us when we seek comfort and security in Him. He is the Lord, and we have nothing at all if we don’t have Him. We ought to look around and thank God for the faithful men and women He has placed around us, and also for those He’s entrusted to our care.

There are so many people all around us who are caught up chasing vain pursuits that they suffer and stir up sorrow wherever they go, for themselves and for others. We must avoid such pursuits and consider the infinitely greater pleasure of pursuing intimate fellowship with God. In Him, we have a beautiful inheritance that far exceeds anything we are able to obtain elsewhere.

May we thank our Heavenly Father for His counsel and the instruction He offers us every day. May He keep us always aware of His presence within us through the Holy Spirit, and may His strength prevent this broken world from shaking our faith. May our hearts be filled with joy and continue to rejoice as we find rest in our relationship with Him. May we thank Him for His faithfulness that grants us assurance in knowing that He will never forget us nor forsake us.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” — Romans 15:13
