Have you ever been unsure of something? Having confidence is a critical attribute in the life of any athlete. Doubt is a stumbling block that hinders reaction times and it affects a proper thought process. In the middle of a game, a player needs to be able to make split-second decisions and have the confidence to carry through on those decisions.

I am so thankful the Lord has not left our salvation up to being a guessing game. He has made it absolutely clear how an individual can know whether or not they have eternal life.

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:11-13

God has always been the initiator with us in having a relationship with Him. He proved His love toward us in sending Jesus to die on a cross, shedding His blood for the forgiveness of our sin. Three days after His death, Jesus rose from the grave to prove He had the power to save us. We can have full confidence that Jesus will grant us eternal life when we trust in Him.
