My wife and I are missionaries, and our entire personal and ministry budgets are dependent upon the generosity and giving of churches, organizations and people wanting to invest in our ministry efforts. We knew that to be fully funded, we would have to have an unwavering trust that the Lord would provide all we need as a family and ministry to reach athletes with the Gospel of Jesus.

There are months when our account starts to head south, and without God’s presence and provision, we would have no hope. There have been a handful of times a bill was due and we didn’t have the money needed to cover our costs, but God provided. I remember one November morning vividly. We had a medical bill coming due and I spent the previous few days worrying about how that bill would be paid. We were on our knees praying and hoping the Lord would provide.

That morning, I went to the mailbox to get the mail from the previous day. To my excitement, there was a check from a ministry supporter for the EXACT amount we needed to pay that bill. The amazing part is God had already provided the money needed before we prayed the previous evening.

As Lamentations says, every single day is an opportunity for His grace and goodness to be on display. I pray that today you would experience joy, knowing that if you woke up this morning, then you have one more chance to experience Him.
