“‘My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.'” — Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT)

Experiencing the fruits of a God-led life is similar to playing with a great player. A few years ago, I played in a men’s league with former NBA greats Jason Richardson and Chauncey Billups. In men’s leagues, I’m usually the man — my usage rate is high, and I am able to keep the ball in my hands.
When I played with Chauncey and J-Rich, though, I was smart enough to know that the game was going to be easier for me if I humbled myself and acknowledged that they could do things on a basketball court that I could not.
To give yourself the best chance at success in life, you too must humble yourself and realize that God can and will make game-winning plays in your life that you could never make. But He can’t do it if you don’t give Him your life and let Him create!
When I played with the two NBA greats, I was able to score more often and much easier because of them. The same goes for you when you give your life to God — but the devil will attempt to finesse you into thinking that when you put the ball in God’s hands, you won’t score. Keep in mind that God has the highest IQ and is a willing passer, and will drop you the dime at just the right time. You just have to trust Him.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” — Proverbs 3:5-6, NLT
