THIS IS THE GET IN THE GAME PODCAST
WITH SCOTT LINEBRINK
With a theology degree and a background in business, John Rinehart combined two of his areas of expertise to found Gospel Patrons.
At 25 years old, Rinehart’s business career was booming but he felt his heart being called to something more. So he left the business world to attend seminary with the eventual goal of entering into ministry. Shortly after, he and his wife, Renee, decided take a 132-day trip around the world.
They met and worshipped with other Christians along the way. One of those people was a British businessman who offered some sage advice.
“Behind every great movement of God, generous business leaders have partnered with those who proclaim the Gospel,” he said. “God raises up people to proclaim the Gospel, but he also raises up patrons to support them.”
That planted the seed for what eventually became his new venture, Gospel Patrons, and he later published a book under the same name. This week, Rinehart joins Scott Linebrink on “Get in the Game” to discuss what it means to be a Gospel Patron and where his heart for the book came from.
“Get in the Game” is part of the Sports Spectrum Podcast Network.
