THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING TIM ELKO
Tim Elko is a member of the Ole Miss baseball team and the SEC’s reigning Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In 2021, he was a preseason All-American and team captain, but suffered a torn ACL in April. Incredibly, he returned a month later and was a pivotal member of the Ole Miss baseball team’s postseason run.
In last season’s NCAA Oxford Regional, Elko hit a grand slam in the opening game against Southeast Missouri, then had two home runs and led his team to a victory in the finale against Southern Mississippi a few days later. Ole Miss was eliminated by Arizona in the Super Regionals.
Today on the podcast, Elko shares about the highs and lows of 2021, suffering a torn ACL, returning to play, and why his desire is to be a light for Jesus Christ to a hurting world through the game of baseball.
“It comes from my inner love for Jesus Christ. I just feed off of him and his joy and try to spread that to everybody else.”
