THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING ARIC ALMIROLA

Aric Almirola is a driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 10 car with Stewart-Haas Racing. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, dirt sprint-car driver Sam Rodriguez, Almirola has driven in NASCAR’s Truck Series and Xfinity Series, and he is currently with the NASCAR Cup Series.

His first career win came in the 2014 Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway. He won the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 in 2021, and in 2022 had seven top-10 finishes, including a fifth-place finish at the Daytona 500. Almirola began racing nationally at the age of 14 and made his NASCAR debut in the Sun Belt Weekly Racing Division in 2002. He finished second in the Rookie of the Year standings that year.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Aric Almirola about his decision to retire from racing, then un-retire and return to NASCAR. He discusses growing closer to God and finding peace in knowing he’s right where the Lord wants him to be. Almirola also shares about the trips he’s taking with his son to different NFL and MLB stadiums.
