SS PODCAST: PGA Tour & U.S. Navy veteran Billy Hurley III on his identity, worth in Christ

THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING BILLY HURLEY III

Billy Hurley III is a professional golfer who turned pro in 2006, after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2004. He served in the Navy from 2004-2009, and had an extended deployment in the Persian Gulf, where he held the position of guided missile destroyer’s force protection assistant.

He then focused on golf full time and is currently the only U.S. military veteran on the PGA Tour. He owns three professional wins, one of which came on the PGA Tour in the 2016 Quicken Loans National, where he defeated Vijay Singh by three strokes.

In November 2019, Billy had back surgery and has spent the last three years rehabbing with the hopes of returning to the course someday. He is currently the co-host of the “Living It Up” podcast and continues to do work with the Billy Hurley III Foundation.

Today on our podcast, Billy Hurley shares about serving in the Navy, being deployed during his service time, chasing wins on the PGA Tour, and finding his worth and identity in Christ.
