THIS IS THE GET IN THE GAME PODCAST
WITH SCOTT LINEBRINK
Geoff Blum’s 14th-inning home run in Game 3 of the 2005 World Series will forever be part of his legacy from his 14-year MLB career, and in today’s conversation with Scott Linebrink, he talks about how the trade that sent him to the Chicago White Sox earlier that season shaped him as a player and as a man.
The White Sox, thanks in part to Blum, went on to win the World Series that year, but he talks with Scott about how hard it was to leave the brotherhood of a San Diego Padres team, where he was teammates with Scott. The two talk about those memories, their faith, dealing with failure and disappointment, parenting and much more in this conversation.
Now retired, Blum serves as a TV color analyst for the Houston Astros, whom he played for from 2002-2003 then again from 2008-2010.
Get in the Game is part of the Sports Spectrum Podcast Network.
