Week 3 of the NFL season takes us to the land of Brotherly Love, where the (1-1) Philadelphia Eagles host the winless (0-2) New York Giants. With both teams coming off losses last week, can the Carson Went leads the Eagles to it’s second win over a division opponent or will the Giants offense get back on track? Our picks below.
Jason Romano: Eagles 31 – Giants 21 – Philly’s home opener will have the fans loud and ready to go. Despite going 1-1, the Eagles have played well in their first two games, and I expect Carson Wentz and crew to come away with the W.
UPSET PICK: Redskins 30 – Raiders 27 — Oakland has been on fire their first two games, but playing in prime-time and having to travel across the country to face Washington brings them their first loss. Kirk Cousins has a big day for the Skins.
Justin Adams: Eagles, 24, Giants 10 – The Giants have scored 13 points in it’s first two games. 13 points!! The inconsistencies continue for another week against a Philadelphia defense that has eight sacks on the season, which is fifth best in the league.
UPSET PICK: Chargers 24, Chiefs 20 – It’s desperation time for the Los Angeles Chargers. Lose at home against Chiefs and the Chargers will fall to 0-3 in the tough AFC West division. Philip Rivers gives one of his best performances to bring to give the LA faithful it’s first win of the year.
Jon Ackerman: Eagles 27, Giants 17 — It’s early, and two weeks don’t define a season, but the Giants haven’t come close to their lofty preseason expectations. Meanwhile, the Eagles are 1-1 after two tough road games. Philly wins their home opener.
UPSET PICK: Lions 30, Falcons 27 — Are the Lions for real at 2-0? We’ll see as they take on the defending NFC champs, also at 2-0. Detroit makes a statement by holding off Atlanta at home.
