College Football Game of the Week: TCU vs Oklahoma State

Week 4 of the college football slate takes up to Stillwater, Oklahoma for what could be a Big 12 Championship preview between the #16 Texas Christian Horned Frogs vs #6 Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Last week everyone picked the Sports Spectrum Game of the Week and the upsets correctly. Will it happen again? Our picks below.

Jason Romano: Oklahoma State 48 – TCU 31 – Too much firepower from the Cowboys, who will have no trouble at all scoring points at home.

UPSET PICK: Purdue 24 – Michigan 21 – The Boilermakers are 2-1 and their only loss was a close one to Louisville. I think being at home will give them spark to upset the Wolverines. Expect a big day from QB David Blough.
Justin Adams: Oklahoma State 45 – TCU 34 – Much like Jason, I agree that the Cowboys have too much firepower for the Horned Frogs to handle. The only way I see TCU pulling off the upset is if tailbacks Darius Anderson and Kyle Hicks are able to control the clock and grind out a victory. But, OSU scores so quickly that a even the best running game may not matter.
UPSET PICK: Colorado 34, Washington 31 – This pick is more heart over head. Washington routed the Buffs 41-10 last year in the Pac-12 Championship Game and have looked impressive in it’s first three games. Huskies receiver Dante Pettis is a threat on offense and on special teams, tying the NCAA record for the most career punt returns for a touchdown at eight last week. Colorado cornerback Isaiah Oliver will have to minimize the impact of the speedy Pettis and force Washington quarterback Jake Browning rely on other receiving options. Colorado and the Folsom Field faithful goes crazy as Buffs QB Steven Montez leads CU to a win and snaps a seven-game losing streak to Washington dating back to 1996.

Jon Ackerman: Oklahoma State 37, TCU 35 — Neither team has had a tight game yet, but the Big 12 foes will when they meet in Stillwater. OSU QB Mason Rudolph and his 210.3 passer rating keep the Cowboys in front.

UPSET PICK: Iowa 38, Penn State 35 — Iowa is 3-0 and playing at home. No. 4 Penn State is 3-0 but playing its first game of the year on the road, with high expectations for the first time in a long time. Iowa stuns the Nittany Lions.
