It’s one of the best Thanksgiving Day traditions! Eating turkey and dressing while watching football on the big screen with your family and friends. And we have a great one as the Minnesota Vikings (8-2) visit the Detroit Lions (6-4) in a huge NFC North Division matchup.
The other game of the week is between the New Orleans Saints (8-2) and the Los Angeles Rams (7-3). Now to our picks below.
Jason Romano: Minnesota 25 – Detroit 17 – The Vikings are red hot and playing excellent football in all 3 phases. A short week on the road doesn’t hurt them, I think they get the Thanksgiving Day victory.
New Orleans 27 – LA Rams 21 – The Saints are riding a mile high after their comeback win over Washington. The Rams return home after a tough loss to Minnesota. I like the Saints to keep it rolling in this one and get the W.
Justin Adams: Detroit 23 – Minnesota 20 – For as hot as Minnesota has been, much of their damage has been done at home. The last four of five games were at U.S. Bank Stadium and now the next three will be on the road. With that, I see Case Keenum start to come down to earth. Give me the Lions winning their fifth consecutive game on Thanksgiving Day.
New Orleans 30 – LA Rams 28 – This is a pick ’em game. Both teams are having good years, but the Saints are on another planet. After winning eight in a row, New Orleans has developed a strong running game behind Mark Ingram and rookie sensation Alvin Kamara. The ground game helps Drew Brees and the Saints win it’s ninth straight and sets up a big divisional game against Carolina next week.
Jon Ackerman: Minnesota 27 – Detroit 14 – The Lions have won four in a row on Thanksgiving Day. The Vikings have won six in a row this season, most recently a big win over the highest-scoring offense in the league (L.A. Rams). I’ll take the Vikings.
Los Angeles Rams 33 – New Orleans 28 – The Rams were rolling until they ran into the Vikings D. But they’ll get back on track at home against New Orleans, despite the Saints’ eight-game winning streak.
