“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

Rise Above

Fear is something we all struggle with at some level, in some seasons more than others. It manifests in many different ways and can negatively affect so many areas of our life if we allow it to. One of my children has especially struggled with fear his whole life, so I understand the ways that fear can cripple and hold us back.

This is the enemy’s plan, and it shouldn’t catch us by surprise. God knows that fear will come against all of us and we will be tempted to fall prey to it, allowing it to hold us back. That’s why so many times in Scripture we see Him saying “do not be afraid” and “be strong and courageous.”

The next time you begin to get anxious and afraid, remember the Lord your God is with you. Picture yourself leaning into Him as He wraps His arms around you, protecting you from everything you are afraid of, and empowering you to rise above and be victorious over the enemy’s attack of fear.

Blessings to you!
