Eagles QB Carson Wentz and his AO1 foundation are building a sports complex in Haiti

As Carson Wentz begins preparation for his 3rd NFL season in 2018, he’s also in preparation for something that will make an even bigger impact away from the football field.

Through his foundation, AO1, Carson is asking for your help in raising funds to help with the building of a sports complex in Haiti.

Beginning on April 30 and ending May 14, Carson Wentz is asking for your donations to the AO1 Foundation that will go directly into the building and completion of the Sports Complex in Haiti.

In addition, the Eagles starting quarterback is personally matching whatever funds come into the Foundation (including items purchased from the AO1 store) during these two weeks up to $500,000.

According to AO1, 98% of people from Haiti will not graduate high school, over 80% of people are unemployed, and over 54% of people live in poverty.  AO1 believes the root cause of this is a lock of opportunities and a limited focus on education and an understanding of identity.

By impacting over 15,000 children per year, the Sports Complex will provide the opportunity for children to develop positive character traits and life values.  Through mentorship, children will learn the importance of teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and how to become men and women of integrity.  Sports create a foundation to develop important characteristics that these children will carry with them the rest of their lives.

Phase one of the complex is almost complete, so these added funds are needed to jump start phase two. Upon completion, the complex is aiming to feature: 10 soccer fields, 2 indoor basketball courts, 6 outdoor basketball courts, among other amenities.

Consider donating and partnering with Carson by going to their website at AO1foundation.org.
