“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” — John 10:10
Live An Abundant Life
We hear all the time that life is precious and every day is a gift to cherish. But how often do we wake up and attack each day with a grateful mindset?
Jesus didn’t say that He came for us to have an average, boring or ordinary life. He says that He came for us to have an abundant life that far surpasses our greatest dreams, better than we could’ve ever imagined.
Recently, former Teen Vogue editor-in-chief and current New York Times bestselling author Elaine Welteroth shared this quote on her Instagram page: “You have too much in you for God to reward a half-hearted pursuit.” She elaborated even more in the caption, explaining that her husband inspired her to be just as intentional with her quiet time with God as she is with her work appointments. Therefore, she made that quote a recurring appointment in her phone to remind herself to show up and reclaim that space each day.
Welteroth’s post inspired me to make a personal calendar invite that reads, “Live an abundant life.” In doing so, that is now the first thing I see upon checking my phone each morning. Intentionality is what our Father wants us to have when we step out of bed to conquer the day.
What intentional steps will you take toward living the abundant and full life you have been called to live?
