Preparing for Action
We would never participate in any sport without properly warming up first. If we did, our performance would suffer and we would miss out on much of the joy.
How many times do we attend church without preparing ourselves? How many times do we open the Bible without praying first?
Several years ago, a wonderful pastor spoke about the importance of preparation and it made an impression on me. Today, I try to make a habit of praying and asking God to open my mind before I open the Bible. The same should be applied as we prepare to attend our church services. You will receive greater insight and blessing by putting this into practice.
Our growth as Christians will not fall on us from a tree; we must take the action steps of seeking God first!
