THIS IS THE GET IN THE GAME PODCAST
WITH SCOTT LINEBRINK
Dave Dravecky’s story is full of hope, courage and perseverance in the midst of deep uncertainty. Above it all, he loves to share how his faith in Jesus guided him through it all.
In 1988, he was at the pinnacle of his Major League Baseball career until doctors discovered cancer in his throwing arm, forcing him to remove half of his deltoid muscle.
Despite being told by doctors, “Short of a miracle, you’ll never pitch again,” he returned the following season and pitched a 4-3 win against the Cincinnati Reds in his first start back. His comeback, though, lasted just one more start. In his next appearance against the Montreal Expos, his arm split in two. His career was done.
On this episode of “Get in the Game,” Dravecky shares that story and how God has used him and his platform in the wake of it.
“Get in the Game” is part of the Sports Spectrum Podcast Network.
