Greg Ellis is currently the head football coach at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he starred as a three-time first-team All-ACC player and was selected No. 8 overall in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys.
Ellis played 11 seasons with the Cowboys from 1998-2008, and then finished up his final season in 2009 with the Oakland Raiders. In 2007, he registered 12.5 sacks, was selected to the NFC Pro Bowl roster and was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year. He is third on the Cowboys’ all-time sacks list with 77.0, and he finished his career with 84.0.
