THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JADE MCCARTHY, FEATURING YAN GOMES
Yan Gomes is a catcher for the Chicago Cubs. He was selected in the 10th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by Toronto, and three years later he made his MLB debut with the Blue Jays in May 2012. His baseball journey has taken him from Toronto to Cleveland, Washington, Oakland and now Chicago.
In 2018, Gomes was named an American League All-Star. The following season, he was a member of the Washington Nationals’ World Series championship team, for which he caught the final out to secure the victory in Game 7.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Gomes about the evolution of his faith, helping teammates in their journeys, being baptized, and going from a fan to a follower of Jesus.
“We’re on the biggest stage of sports, and we get to share our faith and talk to people about what we believe in. I love Jesus, and He has kept me this way.” – @Yan_AGomes https://t.co/3y2mmMEf6k
