THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING DONNIE SHELL
Donnie Shell played 14 seasons in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1974-1987. He went undrafted after playing college football at South Carolina State, and in his rookie season with the Steelers won the first of four Super Bowls in the 1970s.
During his playing career, Shell was a three-time first-team All-Pro safety and was selected to five Pro Bowls. After retirement, he waited 33 years until his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Donnie Shell about winning four Super Bowls, his close relationship with Tony Dungy, growing in his faith, and using his Hall of Fame speech as a way to glorify God.
"Praise God on the road to Canton but it all started in Pittsburgh. Many thanks to the Steelers Organization, fans, former teammates and my family for their support and prayers".
