TABLE FORTY PODCAST: Matt Holliday - Lessons From His Career

THIS IS THE TABLE FORTY PODCAST
WITH MATT AND LESLEE HOLLIDAY

Table Forty is focused on bringing in unique guests each week. Every once in a while, though, Matt and Leslee Holliday share a conversation together — just the two of them.

This week, Leslee interviews Matt about some of the more valuable lessons he learned during his professional baseball career — lessons on discipline, how and when he knew he could be a major leaguer, how he dealt with success and failure, how important proper nutrition is, and how he grew in his faith throughout his 15-year career.

Matt was a seven-time All-Star, a four-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and in 2007 was arguably the best hitter in the National League. He finished with the NL’s highest batting average that year (.340) and also drove in the most runs (137). He was later named the MVP of the 2007 NL Championship Series. He also won a World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011.

This conversation provides a unique look into the mind of a professional athlete who knows what it takes to be great. Many of the questions Matt gets from coaches and athletes about how to play at the next level are answered in this conversation.

Table Forty is part of the Sports Spectrum Podcast Network.
