Week 10 of the NFL season features a matchup of two teams looking to get back into the postseason. The New Orleans Saints haven’t been to the playoffs since 2013, going 7-9 for the last three seasons. Now at 6-2, the Saints are riding a six-game winning streak and leading the NFC South.
The Buffalo Bills haven’t reached the postseason since 1999. Despite a tough loss last week to theJets, the Bills, at 5-3, remain in a good position to get to the playoffs.
Below is our picks.
Jason Romano: Buffalo Bills 27 – New Orleans Saints 24 – Buffalo needs this win at home after a terrible performance on Thursday Night against the Jets. New Orleans is one of the surprise teams in the NFL this season, starting 6-2 and winning with a running game and defense. Tough to pick against the red hot Saints, but Buffalo’s a different team at home. I like the Bills in a close one.
UPSET (NE -7.5): Denver Broncos 27 – New England Patriots 23 – The Super Bowl Champions have won 4 in a row and are coming off a bye week. The Broncos got embarrassed in Philadelphia. They look like a mess. But strange things happen in the Mile High. Call this a hunch, but I think Denver’s defense has too much pride to lay down against Tom Brady.
Justin Adams: Buffalo Bills 27 – New Orleans Saints 24 – Quietly Tyrod Taylor has been having a solid season. The Bills quarterback has thrown for 10 touchdowns and only two interceptions. With recently acquired Kelvin Benjamin inserted into the roster, I see the good times continuing at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
UPSET (NE -7.5) : Denver Broncos 24 – New England Patriots 20 – This game will be ugly and that’s the only way Brock Osweiler and the slumping Broncos will win this one. The Patriots have won 11 consecutive games on the road, but Tom Brady owns a 3-7 record in Denver, including 0-3 in the playoffs. I see that trend continuing this week.
Jon Ackerman: New Orleans Saints 30 – Buffalo Bills 17 – Who would have thought Saints-Bills would be a big matchup in Week 10? The Saints have won six in a row and the Bills are 4-0 at home. But I’ll take New Orleans and Drew Brees to hand the Bills their first defeat in Buffalo
UPSET: Washington Redskins 24 – Minnesota Vikings 20 – I’m not convinced Minnesota is as good as its 6-2 record indicates. Washington’s four losses have come to high-powered offenses, and that’s not the Vikings. So I see the Redskins stealing this one.
