Patriots wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson says former teammate Derek Carr baptized him last season

Patriots wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was a guest on Mad Dog Sports Radio and shared the story of how he got baptized at the team hotel on a road trip in 2017.

“We was in chapel one Sunday,” Patterson told Adam Schein of Mad Dog Radio. “I came up to him and I was like, ‘Man I need to get baptized.’ It’s time for me to change my life around at this moment. My life hasn’t been going like I was planning it to be but I want to change it. He talked to me, sat me down, he had another teammate come with me and he actually baptized me that same night in the hotel. It’s the things off the field that people don’t really see about Derek Carr.”

Patterson played just one season with the Raiders in 2017, but it’s a season he’ll never forget thanks to Derek Carr. The wide receiver was traded by Oakland to New England in March and will catch passes in 2018 from future Hall of Famer Tom Brady.
