Jaguars' Jalen Ramsey keeps Bible verses in his wallet: 'Faith is big for me'

If you were to look inside Jalen Ramsey’s wallet, you’d probably find a good amount of money.

In fact, if you were to check back in a few years, you’d probably find even more considering how much the young Pro Bowler is already worth as a cornerstone of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ title-contending defense.

Money isn’t the only thing Ramsey carries around, though. In a video with GQ called “10 Things Jalen Ramsey Can’t Live Without,” the third-year All-Pro reveals something he values even more than his paychecks.

“I also keep a couple Bible verses with me,” he said. “I’ve been having these since high school.”

On one side of a handheld card is 1 John 4:16: “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” On the other side of the card is 2 Timothy 1:7: “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”

“Faith is big for me,” Ramsey explains, “so that’s my essential.”

The fifth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Ramsey has already emerged as one of the game’s top corners entering his third pro season. A Florida State standout before starring with the Jags, he intercepted a career-best four passes in 2017, his first Pro Bowl campaign. The corner has also shared his faith on social media, posting Bible verses on Twitter throughout the offseason.
