Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson buys his mom a house for Mother's Day

The first big purchases Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has made after signing a four-year, $140 million extension last month have been all about showing his gratitude to others. Wilson first gifted each of his 13 offensive linemen with $12,000 worth of Amazon stock and wrote a letter thanking them for their sacrifice on his behalf following the contract’s announcement.

The next recipient of Wilson’s generosity was his mother, Tammy. On Monday, Wilson posted videos on Instagram of Tammy’s reaction when she found out he had bought her a new house for Mother’s Day.

“All these years you have never asked me for anything,” Wilson wrote. “Only thing you wanted is for me to LOVE.”

He ended the post with the hashtags “HappyMothersDay” and “GodIsGood.”

Wilson, a Super Bowl champion and five-time Pro Bowler, threw for 3,448 yards and a career-high 35 touchdowns last season. The 30-year-old is about to enter his eighth season and has yet to miss a game in his career.

The Seahawks host the Denver Broncos in their first preseason game on Aug. 8. They open the regular season at home against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 8.
