Bubba Watson wins 2018 Travelers Championship, his 3rd PGA Tour win this year

Bubba Watson shot a 64 on Day 4 in Cromwell, Conn., to take home the 2018 Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands.

The win was Watson’s third on the PGA Tour this season, the most of any golfer.

“I feel like this is my home course,” Watson said. “As soon as they put the schedule up, I sign up for this. I want to come back here. This means so much, not only from the golf side of it, but from the family side. My dad, it was the only time he got to see me win (in 2010). He got to see me qualify for the Ryder Cup at this event. So all these things just mean so much to my family.”

Down six strokes at one point, Watson rallied Sunday to win his third Travelers Championship title, shooting a 7-under 63 for the three-stroke victory.

Watson finished the tournament at 17-under (263) and received $1,260,000 in winnings. Paul Casey, Stewart Cink, Beau Hossler and J.B. Holmes all tied for second at -14.

In 2014, Watson told the Billy Graham Evangelist Association that he is “getting more in the Word and realizing that golf is just an avenue for Jesus to use me to reach as many people as I can.”

Watson told BillyGraham.org that, for him, it’s all about “showing the light.” “There’s people who want to put down Christians,” Watson said. “I try to tell them Jesus loves you. It’s just a way to be strong in my faith.”
