Xavier basketball coach gets amazing letter from his parents after achieving a milestone victory

Xavier basketball coach Chris Mack made school history last week when his squad beat St. Johns 88-82 last Wednesday Night. It was Mack’s 203rd career victory as the head coach at Xavier, surpassing his former coach, Pete Gillen, for most by a men’s basketball coach in the school’s history.

The next day, Mack received a hand written card from his mom and dad congratulating him and encouraging him to continue to be a light for the Lord.

“I’m not sure what the future holds but I do know who holds the future,” Mack’s mother wrote. “In all the ups and downs of the climb, in all the twists and turns of the mountainside, in all the decisions of which way to go, look to Him and seek His will for you. Then, no matter what, you’ll be at peace and God will honor your ways.”

She also closed the letter to Mack with a scripture from Colossians 2:6-7:

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” – Colossians 2:6-7
