Who doesn’t love the apostle Peter? I mean, every person I know, including myself, has a little bit of Peter within them! Whether it is boldness in our faith or even just being quick-tempered, I am sure everyone can see a few characteristics of Peter in their lives.

So many different things he experienced in his life were dramatic, but if you go to Matthew 14, you see one of his most life-changing events. John the Baptist had just died, 5,000 men were sitting on a hillside starving, and Jesus came up with the great idea that the disciples ought to feed them, even though they had no food nor money.

After all that, tired from the day of preaching and miracles, Jesus went to pray by Himself and commanded the disciples to launch out on a boat. When in the middle of the sea, a storm came out of nowhere. The boat rocked and the rains fell, and to top it off, they looked up and saw a man standing on the water! It wasn’t a ghost; it was Jesus, and He told them to not be afraid. Peter, being bold, said, “Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water” (v. 28). And Jesus responded, “Come!” (v. 29). With that, Peter learned what trust was all about!

What is it that you need God to do in your life? Sometimes, He’s waiting on you to get out of the boat and walk toward Him.
