Daily Devotional: Friday, November 8 - Trophies Of Grace

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions — it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” — Ephesians 2:4-7

In 2023, after winning the World Series, the Texas Rangers posted a unique job opening for a “Trophy Transport Coordinator.” The role involved overseeing the transportation and security of their coveted championship trophy as it traveled across Texas, giving fans the chance to see it up close.

What a great gig — traveling around Texas and showing off a trophy!

In the same way, the Bible tells us that when Jesus transforms our lives, we become His trophies of grace. We were once dead in our sins, but Jesus rescued us, making us alive in Him and covering us with His grace (Ephesians 2:4-5, above).

Now, He proudly points to us as His trophies. We are “the visible display of the infinite riches of his grace and kindness” (Ephesians 2:7, TPT). You are a living testament to His grace and love, and for all eternity, He will showcase you as the recipient of His boundless, unconditional love.

You are a recipient of God’s grace — a trophy of His love. He has rescued, restored and redeemed you, not just for this moment but for eternity. The ultimate victory!
