THIS IS EPISODE 254 OF THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
LaChina Robinson calls games for a myriad of companies, including ESPN, FOX Sports, Raycom’s ACC women’s basketball and the Atlanta Dream. She also hosts the “Around The Rim” podcast for ESPNW.
After her tenure as a star basketball player for Wake Forest University, Robinson went on to work as an administrator for the Georgia Tech women’s basketball program, and she never missed a game for several years. She then combined her experience on the court and her passion for collaboration into the career of her dreams: broadcasting. Her broadcasting career began when she was asked to cover the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream in 2008, both on radio and television for FOX Sports South. She’s been a basketball analyst for the team ever since, and ESPN asked Robinson to join its team in 2009.
Robinson has covered the NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four, Big East women’s basketball, the WNBA Draft, the WNBA All-Star Game and the WNBA Finals.
On this episode of the podcast, we talk to Robinson about her crazy basketball broadcasting schedule, her biggest piece of advice to those wanting to enter the media, what she’s learned from failure, and how her faith has played a role in her journey.
