THIS IS THE GET IN THE GAME PODCAST
WITH SCOTT LINEBRINK
Matt Holliday played 15 seasons in the major leagues, and was named an All-Star in seven of those. He was also a member of the 2011 World Series-championship St. Louis Cardinals team, and this summer was inducted into the Cardinals Hall of Fame. After serving as a volunteer assistant coach for his brother Josh’s Oklahoma State University baseball team, Matt recently accepted his first major league coaching job as the bench coach in St. Louis under manager Oli Marmol.
Along with his wife, Leslee, Matt co-hosts the “Table Forty” podcast, which is part of the Sports Spectrum Podcast Network. Their son, Jackson, was the No. 1 overall draft pick by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2022 MLB Draft. Matt and Leslee have two other sons, Ethan and Reid, and a daughter, Gracyn.
Matt has a heart for coaching and serving others, and many of his efforts have come in a voluntary role, whether it’s at OSU, helping major leaguers find their swinging stroke, or working with his children and other youth baseball players. In this episode of “Get in the Game,” he talks about his love for baseball, coaching and leadership, and how his faith in God leads him in it all.
“Get in the Game” is part of the Sports Spectrum Podcast Network.
