Drew Brees is going nowhere.
The 39 year-old quarterback signed a two-year deal worth $50 million to remain the quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Brees changed his game a bit in 2017, when he threw fewer passes but saw New Orleans develop a dominant running game, leading to an 11-5 record and a playoff appearance. The former Super Bowl MVP still threw for 4,334 yards, his 12th consecutive season with more than 4,000 passing yards.
For his 17-year career, Brees has thrown for 70,445 yards and is destined to pass Brett Favre (71,838) and Peyton Manning (71,940) in 2018 to become the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards.
Brees, a believer in Jesus Christ, has shared his testimony with us about the decision he made to follow the Lord.
“I remember being in church on my 17th birthday, sitting in the same pew that I would always sit in with my brother, where we never paid attention but simply goofed off each week. But something that Sunday was different,” Brees told us. “I was locked in on the pastor. He was talking about how the Lord was looking for ‘a few good men’ to carry on His Kingdom, to spread His Word and to live the life that He had planned for them. That spoke to me. It was at that moment that I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart.”

Brees will begin preparing for his 18th NFL season. Adam Schefter of ESPN says the new contract is actually more of a one-year deal with a team option for 2019, but it sets it up the future Hall of Famer to finish his career in New Orleans.
