I ONCE WAS
Stories of transformation from the lives of pro athletes
***
As a college hockey player, Josh Manson learned his mother had been given a terminal diagnosis of Stage 4 melanoma. He didn’t know God, but turned to Him in prayer and promised that if He healed his mother, he would give his life to God. Josh’s mom was miraculously healed, but he didn’t follow through on his promise — at least not right away. With the help of his eventual wife and some books, however, Josh did end up dedicating his life to Christ.

We’re all in the middle of a story, and whether we admit it or not, we want our stories to matter. It’s those stories of deep and lasting impact that come to life when a person encounters Jesus, and responds to Him by faith. “I Once Was” invites professional athletes to share their own transformational stories, describing the very moment that changed their lives forever.
