SS PODCAST: Saints LB Demario Davis on living for Jesus, finding his identity

THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JASON ROMANO, FEATURING DEMARIO DAVIS

Demario Davis is a linebacker with the New Orleans Saints. He was originally selected in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the New York Jets, and he went on to play the next six seasons with the Jets (2012-2015, 2017) and Browns (2016). In 2018, he signed with the Saints and has started all but one game ever since.

After arriving in New Orleans, Davis was named first-team All-Pro in 2019, and second-team All-Pro in 2020 and 2021, though he still somehow has yet to be selected to the Pro Bowl. He is also an author and his book, “The Unsuccessful Champion,” was released in October 2019.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Davis about the evolution of his playing career, almost retiring five years ago, missing his first ever NFL game in 2021, trusting in God, and what it means to truly surrender his entire life to the Lord.
