SS PODCAST: Broncos' Justin Simmons on expectations, leadership, growing in faith

THIS IS THE SPORTS SPECTRUM PODCAST
WITH JADE MCCARTHY, FEATURING JUSTIN SIMMONS

Justin Simmons is a Pro Bowl safety with the Denver Broncos. Since arriving in the NFL, he has solidified himself as Denver’s starting free safety, being rewarded with a four-year contract in March 2021. Last season, he tied for the league lead with six interceptions despite playing only 12 games, and was named a second-team All-Pro for the third time in his career (2019, 2021, 2022).

The Broncos selected Simmons in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Boston College. He was an All-ACC second-team performer in college, as selected by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association and ACC head coaches. He was also named to Phil Steele’s All-America fourth team and ProFootballFocus.com’s All-America honorable mention.

Today on the podcast, Jade McCarthy talks to Justin Simmons about his growth as a follower of Christ, handling expectations on the field and in his marriage, and how his teammate Russell Wilson has inspired him to continue to grow as a leader.
