Around the Net: Two NBA brothers host faith-based basketball camp

Jrue and Justin Holiday may be on opposite teams from October through April (the New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks, respectively), but in the offseason, that is certainly not the case for these brothers.

This summer, this NBA duo traveled back to their hometown Shepherd Church in Porter Ranch, California, where they hosted a basketball camp for kids ages 5-16 last week. The purpose of the camp, according to the article on The Christian Post, is not only to teach the fundamentals of basketball, but also to emphasize the importance of a Christian community.

“As NBA players we can impact these kids, they look up to us. Jrue and I love doing the camp every year,” Justin said in an interview with the Los Angeles Daily News. “It gives us the opportunity to be good examples on the basketball court, but also show the campers how important faith and the church family is.”
