Yankees star Aaron Judge shows ‘relationship I have with Him’ by putting Bible verse on All-Star Game bat

New York Yankees superstar outfielder Aaron Judge had a quiet night on Tuesday in the MLB All-Star Game (which the National League won by a home run swing-off after the teams were tied at 6 after nine innings), grounding out in the first and fourth innings in his two plate appearances. However, “quiet” is not how anyone would describe the first half of his 2025 season.

The 33-year-old California native leads all of MLB in batting average (.355) and hits (125), while he is second to Seattle’s Cal Raleigh in home runs (35) and RBIs (81). A strong finish to the season may mean a number of new career highs for Judge, who has already been selected to seven All-Star Games, won two AL MVP awards (2022, 2024), and set the AL single-season home run record (62) during his 10-year career.

Judge was this season’s top vote-getter for the mid-summer classic in Atlanta, and knowing that millions of baseball fans would tune in to the All-Star Game to see him, he made sure the bat he used had special significance.

His bat referenced the Bible verse 2 Corinthians 5:7, the same verse he quotes in his banner photo on his X account. Judge has always been ready to share his faith in Jesus throughout his dominant 10-year career.

In the lead-up to this year’s All-Star Game, he was asked in a media session by CBN Sports about his faith and where true fulfillment comes from.

“Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” Judge boldly answered. “He’s given me this platform — given me this ability. … Getting a chance to do this, it’s great and all, but it’s not fulfilling as much as the relationship I have with Him. So that’s what I would tell anybody: Just build a relationship with Him and that’ll solve all your problems.”

Judge also spoke with CBN Sports at last season’s All-Star contest.

“[Faith is] where it starts for me — the foundation, where I get a lot of my strength, and being able to do what I do on a daily basis. It all comes from that,” Judge said last year. “… It all starts with the faith. I’m definitely blessed to be in this spot.”

Later in the season, CBN Sports caught up with Judge yet again. This time, it was at a World Series media session, where he was asked about his adoption as a newborn by Patty and Wayne Judge and the significance of God adopting His children.

“[God’s] love is incredible. It has no ends,” Judge said. “The position I was in, being adopted by my parents, for them to pick me, choose me, put me in their lives, it’s incredible. … Just having His blessings, keeping the faith through good times and bad times knowing He’s always with me, that’s definitely helped me get to this position.”

After the All-Star festivities, Judge and the Yankees resume regular-season play on Friday with a three-game road series against the Atlanta Braves (42-53). At 53-43, New York trails the Toronto Blue Jays by two games in the AL East race.
