Most Viewed In 2025: #1 – Hulk Hogan gets baptized: ‘Total surrender and dedication to Jesus’

With 2025 coming to a close, Sports Spectrum is highlighting our most-viewed stories of the year.

More than two years ago, the WWE legend known as Hulk Hogan made the most important decision of his life — he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, Florida.

“Total surrender and dedication to Jesus is the greatest day of my life,” Hogan wrote on X on Dec. 20, 2023. “No worries, no hate, no judgment… only love!”

Sports Spectrum published a story the following day to detail the momentous occasion — but more than 580 days later, that story saw a huge surge of traffic. On July 24, 2025, Hogan died of a heart attack at 71 years old. As folks learned of his death, they came across our story of his baptism.

Due to his brazen persona, flowing blond hair, distinctive mustache, memorable catchphrases, unprecedented in-ring success, and numerous movie and television appearances, Hogan’s character was emblazoned on the American psyche as he became a WWE Hall of Famer. While he said he accepted Christ at the age of 14, he became more vocal about his faith in recent years.

In August 2023, Hogan shared with podcast host Joe Rogan that he was raised in church but strayed from faith as a young adult. Only in the last few years had God worked in his heart to show him the vanity of fame and to bring him back to Himself.

“As the years went by, I started seeing how things went,” Hogan said after quoting John 3:16 and claiming Jesus as his Lord and Savior. “It’s got me to the point now where I’m locked back in. … Everything else is a distant second to what happens around me.”

Due to the news of Hogan’s death, views of our story from 2023 made July 24 the second-highest-trafficked day of 2025, following only Super Bowl Sunday. But overall, the story on Hogan’s 2023 baptism ends the year as our No. 1 most-viewed story in 2025:
