NFL players send prayers to Chiefs Eric Berry after suffering achilles injury

#FootballisFamily

The NFL and many of its teams use that hashtag frequently when they post photos on their social media pages. Thursday Night, the NFL family was on full display once again when Chiefs all-pro safety Eric Berry went down with an achilles injury during the fourth quarter of Kansas City’s 42-27 win over New England.

Berry, 28, went down with 4:56 remaining in the game and was noticeably upset after being carted off the field. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said his fear was that he had torn his achilles, a devastating injury for Kansas City and their defensive leader.

As news started to reach the public, current and former NFL players took to social media to pray and share their best wishes for Eric Berry.

Berry was Kansas City’s first round selection in the 2010 NFL Draft. In 2014, after a game against the Raiders, Berry complained of chest pain and soon after, a mass revealed Hodgkin’s lymphoma.  In July of 2015, Berry was declared cancer free and clear to return to all activities. He was the NFL’s comeback player of the year in 2015, and in 2016 was back to his dominant form and named first-team all-pro for the third time.
