NFL Week 12 Recap: Best Performances

The Thanksgiving Holiday weekend is over and the stretch run to the playoff are underway in the NFL. The New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers lead the AFC, while the Kansas City Chiefs are struggling atop the AFC West Division. The Philadelphia Eagles have won their last nine games and Minnesota Vikings are on a seven game winning streak. But we start our list with a star wideout whose team is holding onto the final Wildcard spot in the NFC.

Julio Jones (12 receptions, 253 yards, 2 TDs) – The Tampa Bay defense did their best, but they couldn’t stop Julio Jones from netting his third career 250 yard performance. He caught 12 of 15 targets for 253 yards and two touchdowns. Jones also rushed once for 15 yards in the Falcons 34-20 win over the Buccaneers.

Philip Rivers (27-33, 434 yards, 3 TDs) – Philip Rivers treated the Cowboys defense like they were Thanksgiving dinner. How good was Rivers? He completed eight passing plays for 20 yards or more. In all, Rivers threw for a season-high 434 yards and three touchdowns in the Chargers 28-6 win.

Antonio Brown (10 receptions, 169 yards, 2 TDs) – Antonio Brown made life for the Packers tough on Sunday Night. Nine of Brown’s 10 catches went for first downs, especially this toe tap late in the 4th quarter to set up the Steelers game-winning field goal.

Joe Mixon (23 carries, 114 yards, TD) – Joe Mixon led the NFL in rushing this week and helped the Bengals to 30-16 win over the winless Cleveland Browns. At 5-6, the Bengals are one-game back of the final playoff spot in the AFC.

Zach Ertz (10 receptions, 103 yards, TD) – Zach Ertz did the bulk of his damage against the Chicago Bears in the first 10 minutes of the game as he caught four passes, including a 17-yard pass from Carson Wentz. It was his first 100-yard game of the season. The Philadelphia Eagles sit with the NFL’s best record at 10-1.

Play of the Week: Baltimore Ravens punter Sam Kotch keeps the Ravens drive alive with a fake punt on Monday Night.
