“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8
My wife and I recently completed a three-week trip to Europe where we visited my daughter (she and her husband are stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany) and 11 countries (since European nations are so close together).
Besides languages, many things are different from the United States. Emergency vehicles use blue lights instead of red; tractor trailer rigs are 12-wheelers instead of 18-wheelers; the roofs are steeper, the cars are smaller, and the streets are narrower. There are fewer road signs, virtually no billboards, and as we are from Illinois, infinitely more roadway tunnels. Europe is awesome, but we were glad to return home.
With free agency, things are also different each year with every Major League Baseball roster. Of the 25 players who won the 2011 World Series for the St. Louis Cardinals, only a handful remain on the 2015 team. Players come and go each year on all 32 teams.
Our culture is always changing. We move, we change jobs, we change technology. There isn’t a lot that is constant — except change.
Jesus never changes. We’re saved by grace through faith. His Spirit of truth will always be with us. Jesus is building a place for us in Heaven. With constant flux around us, it’s good to know these
important things will never change.
