Gavin Sheets grew up in a “super religious” family and did all the right things, like going to church and Bible studies. He knew who Jesus was. He got drafted after college, and life was going according to his plan. But then COVID hit. Baseball was shut down. When it started back up, it was only the major-league level, not the minors. Gavin wasn’t invited to play, and he struggled. Eventually, he realized he had made baseball an idol, and for the first time, he genuinely searched for God. And God drew near. Once he admitted he couldn’t do life on his own, Gavin began to see God had greater plans than he could have ever imagined.
